Sonar Kella celebrates 50 years in 2025. This classic Ray film of 1974 introduces Lalmohan Babu (Jatayu). Jatayu carries unique weapons with him on his journeys with Feluda. In Joto Kando Kathmandute it is a kukri. In Kailashe Kelenkari, it is a smoke bomb. In Baksho Rahasya it is a boomerang. However, it all started with a bhujali in Sonar Kella, which was stolen by Mandar Bose. In the climax, Lalmohan Babu gets it back from the original Dr. Hajra and gleefully exclaims “Eta Amar”. His excitement is childlike.
